One of the pieces the most distinctive in the kitchen is the large refrigerator-freezer, which is mounted in a wall separating the kitchen from a living space behind. "We added a niche above for storage of bottles, said Hall.
The wall is not full height, but it creates a visual barrier between the living and kitchen space. "The architect wanted the cabinets to climb up to the wall, but I wanted the kitchen to be as grand and elegant as possible, so I took over," says Hall.

the kitchen is integrated in a space that has been hit in large part by the owners as part of a high-footed renovation of the existing house. They also obtained planning permission to update the rear elevation with Crittall windows, and they installed skylight to boost light levels. "The back of the house was dark before," says Hall. "He had good ceiling heights, but not much light.
The floor is laid with raised porcelain tile with a subtle pattern. "It is so light and unobtrusive that you do not read the minute you see the ground, says Hall," but it is a nice detail.

'the larder was absolutely central to the whole room and it helps the kitchen to be uncluttered, said hall. "The owners were very special to have an island with a sink in it," says hall . 'Sinks are things messy, so we created a breakfast area higher so you can sit at the island, but the mess in the sink is hidden. "

The Plan bright white work is a quartz composite. 'the sink and drainer are immersed in about 5 mm, with a racing rim around the edge of the work surface to help prevent water overflows' said Hall. The owners were also very keen on incorporating a steam oven in the island worktop.

drawers on the left of the cooktop are divided. The top drawer was designed to contain spices on sloping oak racks and a deep drawer is divided specifically for bottles of oil, vinegar and sauces below. "This means they do not litter the work plan," says Hall.

The owners opted for an induction cooktop with a burner for gas wok, too. The drawers have solid beading for details and the contemporary bar handles.
